Abstract
he social crimes that come with peer pressure and other associated issues, parents are encouraged
to dedicate adequate time to mentor their children at the earliest possible stage of their lives.
Parents in Nigeria can prevent drug misuse in the following ways:
1. Talk to their children about drug misuse and educate them about its effects and side effects.
2. There is absolutely no tolerance for drug or alcohol usage within or outside the home.
3. Set a good example.
2.6.2 The government
The government, which has a greater impact and authority than most other organizations, is
another entity that can help reduce or end drug use in the country. In order to stop drug addiction
in Nigeria, the government should:
1. Strengthen the necessary organizations by discovering them and giving them the resources they
need to do their jobs well, such as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
2. Limit access to over-the-counter medications that might be abused.

Drug abuse can be reduced by individuals doing the following:
Researching the harmful impacts of utilizing heavy drugs.
Resisting the influence of others.
