Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing demand for efficient grain processing in both rural and urban communities has necessitated the development of machines that can handle multiple grain types with ease. This project focuses on the fabrication of a multi-purpose grain grinding machine designed to grind grains such as maize, millet, rice, and beans into fine powder or paste, depending on the requirement. The machine was designed with locally available materials to ensure affordability, ease of maintenance, and adaptability in developing regions. The fabrication process involved careful selection of components such as the electric motor, grinding chamber, shaft, bearings, hopper, and frame structure. Engineering principles were applied to ensure durability, efficiency, and safety. Performance tests revealed that the machine operates effectively with minimal energy consumption while maintaining high grinding efficiency. The results demonstrate that the fabricated machine can significantly reduce manual labor, improve productivity, and support small-scale food processing industries.
