THE EFFECT OF ENTERPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION ON BUSINESS START-UP: ASTUDY OF SA’ADU ZUNGUR UNIVERSITY BAUCHI, BAUCHI STATE

ABSTRACT This study examines the ef ect of entrepreneurship education on business start-up: a studyof Sa’adu Zungur University Bauchi state. There are quite a lot of researchers and studies onthelink between entrepreneurship and economic growth, there is still the need to assess the caseof the Nigerian economy notably, at a period the country is seeking alternative sources of economicrevenue to come out of an economic recession, these and many more constitutes the researchobjectives. The study employed a descriptive and cross-sectional survey design, stratifiedrandom sampling technique was used to select 30 respondents out of the 60 respondents as thepopulation for the study. The findings reveal that entrepreneurship education plays a crucial rolein reducing unemployment, fostering innovation, and facilitating economic growth. Most participants believe that entrepreneurship education is instrumental in driving self-relianceandserves as key component of Nigeria’s workforce. The study concludes that powerful tool forempowering students to become self-reliant and innovative entrepreneurs who can contributetoNigeria’s economic recovery and growth. The study recommends that entrepreneurshipeducation curriculum to include more practical, hands-on experiences that prepare students forreal world business challenges. partnerships with local business and mentorship programs canhelp bridge the gap between theory and practice
