Abstract

The Digital Interactive Display Station has been designed around the inefficiencies associated with traditional methods of information dissemination in educational institutions. Most notice boards are static; this makes updating slow and does not offer real-time or engaging communication which is the reason behind our digital interactive display station to drop inefficiencies that are associated with information dissemination in our department. These limitations create the inability to deliver on time important updates on class schedules, event notifications, or even emergency announcements, thus making students and staff unaware of such vital information that would have created an informed school community. The Digital Interactive Display Station integrates a Raspberry Pi 4B with a 32-inch television and a wireless keyboard and mouse to get through these difficulties. The Pi is the central unit that is equipped with an operating interface GUI, showing on it segmented information: news, scheduled events, and other important announcements. The system programmed into this device will keep updating in real-time and keep the information posted currently. With the inclusion of a 32-inch television set, which can be easily mounted in high-traffic areas such as lobbies or hallways, this display makes all information highly visible and accessible. The included wireless keyboard and mouse provide administrators with ease of use in interacting with the system, thereby managing, and customizing displays when needed effectively. It does this through the cost-effectiveness and portability of the Raspberry Pi, a versatile device, for prompt and effective information transmission. Besides, it provides an appealing and interesting platform for the dissemination of information. This will ensure that the school community is better connected to meet the dynamic needs at the school level for an informed and involved school atmosphere for students and staff alike.
