This project exermines critically on assessment of tenements rate as a reliable source of local government with particular reference jere local government of Borno state. To review literature tenements rate in Nigeria and jere in particular and exermine the need for the role played by rating authority rating as a source of local government. It also exermine the concept of the tenement rate, factors affecting tenement rate, challenge in the tenement rate assessment. Aan also comparison with other revenue sources in order to achieve the target.
