Abstract

This study examined the effect of time management on employees’ performance at Top Bottling Company Plc in Ogun State, Nigeria. It specifically assessed the impact of time planning, task prioritization, and work scheduling on employee productivity and efficiency in a time-sensitive manufacturing environment. The research adopted a descriptive survey design. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to employees across production, administration, and logistics departments. The study was anchored on Scientific Management Theory (Taylor) and Goal Setting Theory (Locke & Latham). Findings revealed that time planning, task prioritization, and work scheduling have significant positive effects on employees’ performance. Effective time management practices reduce delays, minimize wastage, enhance focus, and improve output quality and timeliness. Poor time management was found to contribute to operational inefficiencies, missed deadlines, and reduced productivity. The study concludes that time management is a critical determinant of employee performance in bottling companies. It recommends that management institutionalize time management training, implement structured work schedules, and promote task prioritization to boost workforce efficiency and organizational competitiveness.
