Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigates the extraction of Coconut seed oil and Soya bean seed oil using N-hexane Solvent. The effect of extraction time on the oil yield and quality. The physiochemical analysis of the already grinded samples was used to determine that tanin, flavaniod, glycosides, saponin, alkaloid, are plant based compounds found in the seed that are healthy composition of plant seed oil. The percentage oil yield extracted were 40.6% for Coconut and 15% for Soybean The study concludes that N-hexane is an effective solvent for extracting Coconut and Soyabean seed oil. N-hexane is a Non polar solvent that very well extract a Non polar seed oil because it does not combine with water so they work well together during the extraction process
