Abstract

Abstract This study assessed social media and Enugu urban residents’ perception of the implication of the IPOB’s Sit-at-Home order in South-east Nigeria. The study was anchored on Technological Determinism theory. The researcher adopted the survey research method for the execution of the study. A population of 1,092,668 was studied using a sample size of 400. The measuring instrument of the study was the questionnaire which was structured into open-ended and close-ended questions. The research questions were analysed using simple percentage table while the research hypotheses were tested using the Chi-Square statistical table. The findings amongst others revealed that Enugu urban residents support the Biafra agitation by IPOB. The researcher recommended among others, that The Nigerian government should establish an independent commission of inquiry to conduct a transparent, comprehensive, and impartial investigation into alleged unlawful killings and other human rights abuses of Biafra supporters.
