EFFECT OF BLACK SEED POWDER (NIGELLA SATIVA) AND FENUGREEK SEED POWDER (TRIGONELLA FOENUM GRACEUM) SUPPLEMENTATION ON THE SERUM BIOCHEMICAL INDICES OF BROILER FINISHER CHICKEN.

ABSTRACTS A Study was carried out to determine the effect of black seed powder and fenugreek seed powder on Serum Biochemical indices finisher chicken, one hundred (100) Unsexed day – old (Ross 308) broiler chicks were randomly allocated to five dietary treatments of 20 birds each. Each treatment was replicated four time with 5 birds per replicate in a Completely randomized design (CRD). Five diets were formulated Using Commercial finisher feed, (Adva feed*) such that 0 (-ve), 0 (+ve), 10:10, 10:20, and 20:10g per diet. Fenugreek seed powder and black seed powder mixed to the diet 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively, Result from the study showed that all Serum Parameter were Significantly affected Gluc, AST, ALP, TP, ALB, CHOL, TG, HDL, CRT, and LDL (p0.05).Therefore it could be Recommended that 20:10 Black seed powder and fenugreek seed powder mixture in the diet of broiler chickens without any negative consequence on the blood composition. The results obtained indicated no adverse effect of Black seed powder and fenugreek seed powder mixture to the diet on the Serum biochemistry of broiler chicken. 20:10 of fenugreek seed powder and black seed powder does not have deleterious effect on the serum biochemical characteristics of the bird, It therefore that 20:10 of fenugreek seed powder and black seed powder can be used as an alternative feed additive in the broiler Chicken.
