Abstract

Payroll management is a vital aspect of every organization’s administrative operations, directly impacting employee satisfaction, organizational transparency, and financial accuracy. However, traditional manual payroll systems are often error-prone, time-consuming, and susceptible to fraud and inefficiencies. This project focuses on the development of an automated web-based payroll management system designed to streamline payroll processes by offering an efficient, accurate, and secure platform for handling employee salary computation, tax deductions, attendance integration, and payslip generation. The system leverages web technologies such as PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to provide a responsive and role-based platform accessible by administrators, human resources personnel, and employees. Key functionalities include automated salary calculations based on predefined parameters (such as basic salary, bonuses, and statutory deductions), employee attendance and leave tracking, secure authentication, payslip generation in downloadable format, and detailed reporting for audit and compliance purposes. This solution addresses the limitations of traditional systems by enhancing data accuracy, reducing manual workload, ensuring timely salary payments, and maintaining comprehensive payroll records. The system also supports exportable payroll summaries and audit logs for transparency and accountability.
