Abstract

ABSTRACT This project involves the development of a web application that enables farmers in Northern Nigeria to access agricultural equipment for rent, purchase high-quality seeds, and consult with agricultural experts. The system was developed using modern web technologies—React for the frontend, Flask for the backend, and MongoDB for the database. Agile methodology guided the development process, allowing for continuous improvement and user-focused iterations. Features such as user role management (farmer, expert, admin), integrated Paystack payment gateway, location services via Google Maps API, and a forum for interaction were successfully implemented. During testing, the platform demonstrated ease of use, responsiveness, and reliable access to essential agricultural services. The findings indicate that such a platform can significantly reduce barriers to equipment, inputs, and expert knowledge for rural farmers. In conclusion, the system provides a scalable and practical solution that supports digital transformation in agriculture and improves productivity through centralized service delivery.
