DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF 1.5KVA/24V PURE SINE WAVE SOLAR POWERED INVERTER WITH SURGE PROTECTION SYSTEM
Abstract
This project addresses the challenge of limited access to reliable electricity in
developing countries by designing and building a cost-effective 1.5kVA/24V solar inverter
with integrated surge protection. The inverter will convert direct current (DC) power
generated by solar panels into usable alternating current (AC) power for household
appliances. The integrated surge protection safeguards the inverter circuitry from transient
voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes or power grid fluctuations.
The project begins with a review of existing inverter technologies and highlights the
advantages of incorporating surge protection. The methodology chapter details the design
considerations, component selection, and construction process of the inverter. Safety
protocols for working with electronics and testing procedures to ensure optimal
performance will be emphasized.
This project aims to contribute to the wider adoption of solar energy in developing
regions by providing a reliable and affordable solution for converting solar power into
usable electricity. By increasing energy security and promoting renewable energy use, this
project has the potential to contribute to economic development and environmental
sustainability.
