Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Sa’adu Zungur University, Bauchi; to evaluate the effects of wood ash and sheep dung on the vegetative growth of Garden egg (Solanum melongena L.) The study consists of three (3) treatment T1Control, T2 Wood ash (1.0kg/ha), T3 cow dung (5kg/ha) and were replicated three times, making total number of 9 experimental plot on the performance of Garden egg. The designed used were Randomized Complete Block Design. The data collected were subjected to Analysis of variance and 95% confidential interval. The result showed that there were no significant effects (p>0.05) of wood ash and sheep dung on plant height, number of leaves, collar girth, respectively. It was recommended that, further studies should be carried on other methods of Cow dung manure application to determine their effect on growth and yeild of Garden egg. More studies should be carried out on various rates of wood ash application especially above1.0kg/ha used in this study.
