REVIVING HIMT KIOSK FOR THE ENIIANCEMENT OF INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE (IGR) OF THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC IDAH

The project titled "Reviving HMT kiosk for the enhancement of internally generated revenue (igr) of the federal polyechnic Idah". The objectives ofthe study is to assess the current state of the Hospitality Management and Technology department kiosk, to identify the strategies that can be integrated into the kiosk to improve its operations, to evaluate the impact of the kiosk on revenue generation prior to its decline and to develop a marketing plan aimed at increasing awareness and usage of the kiosk among students and staff. The data for the reseaurch work was collected from primary and secondary sources, the primary source are respondents, secondary sources includes, text book, journals and past records that were found in the library. It was revealed from the study that the kiosk was initially well-received but is currently underperforming. The study found out that poor maintenance, inadequate product variety, and inconsistent service delivery were identified as major challenges. It was observed from the study that prior to its decline, the kiosk generated modest but consistent revenue, contributing to departmental IGR. It was observed from the study that collaboration with student groups and the use of incentives (e.g., loyalty programs) were consideredeffective ways to drive engagement. It is recommended that there is need to introduce diverse and quality menu options that meet students' and staff's preferences. It is also recommended that there is need to conduct periodic training for student workers on customer service and business management.
