Abstract

Counterfeit drugs pose a significant threat to public health and the credibility of pharmaceutical products. Traditional paper-based approaches to drug verification and management are ineffective in combating this menace. This project aims to develop a sophisticated, computerized system to address these challenges. By leveraging technologies such as barcode scanning and data analytics, the system seeks to enhance traceability, ensure data integrity, and streamline processes within the pharmaceutical supply chain. The proposed computerized drug verification and management system achieves its objectives by automating the serialization process, enabling the system to assign a digital identity to each unit of the product. This facilitates traceability, ensures data integrity, and streamlines operations in the pharmaceutical supply chain. As a result, it improves operational efficiency, safeguards patient health, upholds regulatory compliance, and ultimately enhances transparency and accessibility within the pharmaceutical industry, thus revolutionizing drug verification and management standards. The methodology adopted for system analysis is the Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM). The programming language and tool used to develop this system are Python and the Flask library, respectively. The key objectives of the system include improving operational efficiency, safeguarding patient health, and upholding regulatory compliance. Through its innovative approach, this project aims to redefine drug verification and management standards, ushering in a new era of transparency and integrity within the pharmaceutical industry.
