Abstract

The present study investigates the analgesic potential of Azadirachta indica leaf extract using varying doses to evaluate its dose-dependent response in pain inhibition. Experimental groups were administered oral doses of 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg, and 40 mg/kg, and the corresponding percentage inhibitions of pain response were observed as 36%, 41%, and 58%, respectively. These results were compared to a standard reference group treated with aspirin, which demonstrated an 84% inhibition. The data clearly indicate that A. indica exhibits significant analgesic activity, with increasing efficacy at higher doses, though it remains less potent than aspirin. The findings support the traditional use of Azadirachta indica in pain management and suggest its potential as a natural analgesic, meriting further investigation into its active constituents and mechanisms of action.
