ASSESSMENT AND UPGRADE OF AN EXISTING SOLAR SYSTEM FROM 1.5KVA TO 3.5KVA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project work focuses on assessing and upgrading an existing solar energy
system from a 1.5KVA capacity to 3.5KVA. During the assessment, it was
discovered that several components of the existing installation were faulty or
inadequate, including some photovoltaic (PV) panels and undersized cables. The
upgrade process involved replacing damaged PV panels, installing appropriately
rated cables, changing the analog inverter to a hybrid inverter, and substituting
dry cell batteries with tubular batteries for better energy efficiency and storage. In
addition, a burglar-proof cage was designed and installed to secure the entire
system. The upgraded system now meets the required capacity and safety standards
and delivers improved performance.
