FABRICATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FOR TEACHING AID
Abstract
This project involves the fabrication of a motor vehicle power steering system for teaching Aid, for educational and demonstration purposes. The model demonstrates the function of a hydraulic power-assisted steering mechanism commonly used in automobiles. The project includes components selection, frame fabrication, and integration of parts such as the steering wheel, steering pump, hydraulic pipes, steering rack and electric motor. The method emphasizes functionality, cost-effectiveness, and educational utility. The system was successfully assembled, tested, and demonstrated to show how power steering reduces the effort required to turn vehicle wheels, enhancing comfort and control. The system mounted on a frame of height 914.4mm×838.2mm, the frame width.1422.4mm it has a driver seat with height 609.6mm. The steering pump is functional and capable of providing the desired result
