Abstract

The chitosan produced from grasshopper exoskeletons demonstrates valuable properties, including biodegradability, biocompatibility, and antimicrobial activity, making it suitable for applications in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and environmental management. Moreover, using insect biomass as a chitosan source contributes to the reduction of agricultural waste, promotes sustainability, and offers an alternative to crustacean-derived chitosan, which is often limited by seasonal availability and allergy concerns.
