Abstract

This project title “Design and Construction of Rechargeable Energy Saving Lamp” The aim of this project is to select the best approach and components to be used in realizing the kit, to construct the energy saver and to test the energy saver. The power supply used here is mains 220V. The 220V is supplied directly to the circuit via a two pin mains cord that is capable that can handle 5A of current. The voltage is drop by a ceramic capacitor with a resistor across it , via diode for rectification . after that a electrolytic capacitor for smoothing the ripples before connecting it to circuit. the output voltage is 12v dc. The test on the constructed circuit was done with a meter and functional Visual tests were done as to check if all connections are done correctly and if there are any short or open circuits on the board, this is done without applying power to the circuit. The second test is done after powering the circuit, a digital meter is set at continuity and then voltage range to check for polarity of supply, correct voltage levels across and between components. It was recommended that our academic curriculum must serve to save the planet by raising awareness of energy conservation and its negative effects if neglected and simple devices as the dark detector
