Abstract

This project work was aimed on construction of Dental Chair.Dental chair is designed for the operation and assistant to work on the patient in a comfortable and efficient manner. The dental chair supports the patients entire body, in either an upright, supine position (nose and knees on the same plane) or sub supine position (the head lower than the feet). The local construction of this dental chair is a way of solving the high cost of industrial dental chair. A quasi experiment design was adopted in this research work whereby the researcher collaborated with an engineer who actually expertise in production of dental instrument (bebtex welding). The result of this study has revealed that the fabrication of dental chair with sink, tap and light is achievable using locally sourced materials. This shows that there was a great improvement in dental technology practice as the local fabrication of dental chair with sink, tap and light was successfully produced.
