Abstract

This project focuses on the design and implementation of an Online Indigene Processing System for Misau Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The manual approach to indigene verification is prone to delays, fraud, and poor record-keeping, which hinders efficiency and transparency. To address these challenges, the study employed a mixed-method approach involving surveys of applicants and interviews with LGA staff and traditional leaders. The developed system is a web-based application that allows applicants to submit documents online, track application status, and obtain verified indigene certificates. It features a unique LGA identification number, an administrative dashboard, and basic data protection mechanisms.Findings indicate that the system can reduce processing time from weeks to days, minimize fraudulent claims, and improve record management. The study recommends expansion to remote areas and training of LGA staff to ensure long-term sustainability and effective service delivery.
