Abstract

In the modern economy, credit cards have emerged as the predominant method for online and offline transactions, facilitating a move towards a cashless society. Their convenience for various payments, from e-commerce purchases to utility bill settlements, has made them indispensable. However, this rise in usage has been paralleled by an increase in credit card fraud, posing significant challenges to fraud detection. Traditional manual monitoring methods for identifying fraudulent activities tend to be reactive, identifying breaches only after they have occurred, leading to considerable financial losses. This research introduces a proactive solution by proposing designing and implementing an advanced credit card fraud detection system. This system leverages the capabilities of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), and Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) to efficiently identify and mitigate fraud risks, thereby enhancing security and minimizing losses for both consumers and issuers.
