PREVALENCE OF TYPHOID FEVER AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS AMONG PATIENTS ATTENDING GIDAUNIYAR ALHERI GARANGAMAWA PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

ABSTRACT Prevalence of typhoid fever among patient within the 0-10,11-20,20-30,31-40,40 to above was carried out within GIDAUNIYAR ALHERI PRIMARY HEALTH CARE,kano state.The typhoid fever,also known as(enteric fever)is a bacterial infection due to salmonella typhoid that cause symptoms of typhoid.The method used in diagnosis of the disease was widal test,A widal test is a quick procedures to diagnose typhoid fever,It only requires a patients serum and somw reagent to detect this fever.The data was collected from the recorded department of the outgoing result of widal cases in the laboratory section of the hospital taking into consideration,the total population of the infected by age and sex of the patients was 100,it has been shown that the highest percentage of the infected patients(77%)while (23%)are non infected out of 100 reported cases,the female were more infected than the male 34% and also patient that start from 21-30yrs are more infected with 27%over the others.
