To achieve the purpose of this study, three null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 |level of significance. The simple random sampling technique was adopted in selecting the five council wards while quota non-probability sampling technique was adopted in selecting the two hundred respondents used for the study. A twenty- five item four point Likert type questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Statistical technique was used for data analysis. The result obtained from analysis of data revealed that, there is a significant relationship between vocational skills training, salary increment and poverty alleviation in the study area. Based on these findings it was recommended that, implementing partners of poverty alleviation programmes should ensure that such programmes are preceded by a need assessment to identify people's areas of need and design progranmmes that would sufficiently address such identified felt needs among individuals.
