Abstract

ABSTRACT This project presents the development of a detailed and realistic 3D model of Abayi Girls Secondary School, located in Aba, Abia State, leveraging high-resolution satellite imagery as the primary data source from Google Earth. This study employs principles of photogrammetry and stereoscopic modeling to reconstruct the campus environment. The methodology involved systematic data acquisition, followed by georeferencing and digitization using ArcGIS and QGIS. Geometric modeling of buildings and terrain was performed in AutoCAD, which was also used for photo-realistic texturing to ensure realism. The final output is a geographically accurate digital twin of the school campus, encompassing 12 primary structures and key infrastructure. This model is suitable for applications in facility management, infrastructural planning, security analysis, and virtual visualization. The project demonstrates a cost-effective and accessible workflow for creating detailed 3D models of localized environments without the need for specialized equipment or on-site surveys.
