PRODUCTION OF ACTIVATED CARBON FOR REMOVAL OF HEAVY METAL FROM EASTERN OBOLO GROUND WATER
Abstract
This study examines the effects of Taraxacum officinale (Lion's teeth) leaf meal supplementation on hematological indices, serum biochemistry, and carcass. Experimental diets were formulated at three inclusion levels: 0% (control), 20 g, and 40 g. These diets were fed to the rabbits twice daily for 11 weeks in a completely randomized design. A total of 24 rabbits aged 7-8months were procedure for this study while the Lions teeth leaves used were harvest around the school where they were planted, were assigned randomly to three dietary treatments, each replicated four times with two rabbits per replicate. Blood samples were collected from two rabbits per treatment at the end of the study to evaluate hematological and serum biochemical parameters. Thereafter, they were used for carcass trait evaluation analysis. Proximate analysis of the experimental diets and Taraxacum officinale was conducted. Data were expressed as mean # standard error and analyzed using one- way ANOVA, with Tukey Test for significant means. Results revealed significant differences (P
