Abstract

This study investigate the effect of dailium guineense on alcohol-induced repro-toxicity in the male reproductive organs, specifically the testis and Epididymis of adult albino wistar rats. The experiment involved administering varying doses of alcohol and dailium guineense extract to evaluate its potential protective effects. The materials used for this study are: Twenty-four adult albino rats, six cages, Top mash feed, Distilled water, Saw dust, Feeding plates and water bottles, Analytical weighing balance, Beakers and Micro-pipette, syringes and Oral garage. dailium guineense was obtained from a market in Okigwe LGA of Imo State, Nigeria, and identified at the Department of Plant Science, Abia State University, Uturu. Result showed that alcohol caused significant damage, including spematogenic arrest cellular necrosis, and vascular damage, while the plant extract demonstrated protective properties, particularly at higher doses, by promoting healing and reducing inflammation. Although some residual damage persisted in high-alcohol groups, the finding suggest that dailum guineense could be a promising natural remedy for mitigating alcohol-induced repro-toxicity, warranting further research into its mechanism and therapeutic potential.
