DEVELOPMENT OF A REAL TIME MULTILINGUAL LANGUAGE TRANSLATION AND LOCALIZATION ASSISTANT
Abstract
Travelers often face communication barriers in foreign countries due to language differences, making navigation and daily interactions challenging. To address this issue, this project presents LangBuddy, a mobile application designed to facilitate seamless multilingual communication through real-time text and speech translation. LangBuddy integrates cloud-based translation services for accurate language conversion and supports speech-to-text functionality for hands-free use. While the app requires an internet connection for live translations, users can save frequently used phrases for offline access, ensuring usability even without connectivity. Additionally, the app includes localization features such as region-specific phrases and cultural tips to enhance the travel experience. With an intuitive interface, LangBuddy allows travelers to quickly translate conversations, store important translations, and retrieve them anytime. By combining real-time translation with offline accessibility, the app serves as a practical tool for overcoming language barriers, making travel more convenient and immersive. Future improvements could expand language support and introduce additional interactive features.
