A COMPUTER NETWORK AND NETWORK SECURITY JOURNAL REVIEW INFORMATION SYSTEM

This project presents a review and analysis of computer networks and the importance of network security through the development of a journal review information system. Computer networks have become essential in modern communication, data sharing, and organizational operations, making network security a critical aspect of information technology. The increasing rate of cyber threats such as malware, phishing, ransomware, and unauthorized access has created the need for effective security measures to protect network infrastructures and sensitive data. The study focuses on understanding computer network concepts, network topologies, communication protocols, network devices, and various security measures used to secure digital systems. It also examines the role of information systems in managing journal reviews and research documentation efficiently. The project aims to automate the review process based on contribution, methodology, and limitations of existing studies related to computer networks and network security. A mixed-method research approach involving case studies, surveys, questionnaires, and literature review was adopted for data collection and analysis. Both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods were used to evaluate network security challenges, threats, and protective mechanisms. The implementation of the system was carried out using PHP and XAMPP to create a web-based platform for storing and analyzing journal information under categories such as citation, methodology, contribution, and limitations. The findings of the study reveal that effective network security requires a layered security approach, regular network monitoring, employee awareness, and updated security protocols. The project concludes that computer networks play a vital role in today’s digital environment and that strong network security practices are necessary to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. Recommendations were made on implementing robust security measures, conducting regular audits, and improving awareness of cyber-security practices.
