DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SECURE ACCIDENT TRACKING SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY COMMISSION)
Abstract
Design and Implementation of Secure Accident Tracking System Case Study: Federal Road Safety Commission Abuja is a research work embarked on to assist Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) track effectively all road crashes on Nigeria roads. This work was embarked on because while staff are trying to achieve her establishment mandate, sometimes, the physical paper where these cases are kept individually get missing. When this happens, the staff responsible may have to cook up data about the crash which may not be correct thus misleading anyone who uses such data for whatever activities.Time is wasted in searching out the records of a given crash in the pool at different reporting situations. Structured System Analysis and Design methodologies were employed in the work which was implemented using Visual Basic programming language, MS Access Relational Database Management System. The work was tested against the objectives set in the design of the work. The work so achieved was able to run parallel with the manual procedure and same results achieved with a lot of additional advantages like time, speed, no duplication of records, etc. The work is also recommended for organizations that handle rescue operations like the Red Cross, Civil Defence, etc.
