DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF REMOTE MONITORING SYSTEM USING SOLAR POWER SUPPLY
Abstract
The growing demand for sustainable energy solutions and remote system management has led to the development of innovative monitoring systems powered by renewable sources. This project presents the design and construction of a Remote Monitoring System Using a Solar Power Supply, integrating an ESP32 microcontroller with current and voltage sensors for real-time data acquisition. The system harnesses solar energy through a 100W, 12V solar panel connected to a 12V 7.5Ah battery via a 30A charge controller, providing a reliable off-grid power source. The ESP32 reads electrical parameters from the connected sensors—monitoring both voltage and current levels of the system—and transmits the data wirelessly via Wi-Fi to an IoT platform for remote access and visualization. This allows users to monitor system performance in real time from any location. The solution is particularly suited for remote or off-grid environments where conventional power supply and manual monitoring are challenging. The project demonstrates the effectiveness of combining solar energy with IoT technologies to create a self-sustained, low-cost, and scalable monitoring system. Its applications span across fields such as environmental monitoring, agriculture, and rural electrification projects.
