CONSTRUCTION OF A PIR SENSOR-BASED AUTOMATIC LIGHT SWITCH
Abstract
This project presents the construction of a PIR sensor-based automatic light switch
designed to control lighting based on human presence detection. The system utlizes
a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor sense motion, triggering a relay to switch ON or
OFF a connected light automatically. This work aims to enhance energy efficiency
by ensuring lights are only active when required. The methodology incudes sensor
integration, relay control, and prototype development. Results demonstrated
reliable detection and automatic switching, making the system suitable for homes,
offies, and security applications. Conclusion confirms its effectiveness and
contribution to energy conservation
