Abstract

Troponin, a set of proteins found in cardiac muscle fibers, is a cornerstone in diagnosing heart-related conditions, notably acute myocardial infarction. Myoglobin, on the other hand, is a protein found in muscle tissue, including cardiac muscle, and is used as a marker for muscle damage. Obesity, characterized by an excessive accumulation of body fat, is intricately linked to numerous health complications, including cardiovascular issues. The aim of this study was to determine the troponin and myoglobin levels among obese students attending Madonna University Teaching Hospital (M.U.T.H).185 participants were included in the study. Serum myoglobin and troponin levels were determined using Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Data was analyzed with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27.
