HISTOPATHOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF KIDNEY IN ALLOXAN INDUCED WISTER ALBINO RATS TREATED WITH GINGER METHANOL EXTRACT
Abstract
The research explored the ability of ginger extract to treat diabetes and kidney damage in male Wistar rats induced with diabetes using a chemical known as alloxan.Fifteen rats were split into three groups. One group was healthy, one group had diabetes and did not undergo any medication, and the final group had diabetes but took ginger extract (200 mg for each kilogram of their weight) for seven days. Diabetes was created by a chemical called alloxan monohydrate, administered in a quantity of 180 mg for every kilogram of body weight. High blood sugar was detected by examining whether fasting blood sugar levels were excessively high. The rats who underwent medication improved and gained more weight than the untreated diabetic rats. Tests on kidney samples indicated that alloxan damaged the renal tubes, made the filters smaller, and caused the kidneys to swell larger. This indicates that diabetes may lead to difficulties. Using ginger extract made the kidneys healthier and prevented damage to the cells. Ginger is excellent for you since it contains advantages for your body. It may help eliminate harmful substances, decrease edema, and regulate blood sugar. These advantages derive from particular elements of ginger known as gingerols and shogaols. These studies demonstrate that ginger may help maintain the kidneys healthy and reduce blood sugar. This could help prevent kidney damage from diabetes and enhance how the body works with diabetes.
