DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION OF MICROCONTROLLER-BASED AUTOMATIC FAN CONTROL SYSTEM
Abstract
This project focuses on the design and construction of a microcontroller-based automatic fan control system capable of regulating fan speed based on ambient temperature. The system utilizes a temperature sensor (LM35) to measure real-time temperature and sends analog data to a microcontroller (ATmega328P), which processes the input and adjusts the fan speed through Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The aim is to achieve improved energy efficiency, reduced manual intervention, enhanced comfort, and reliable automatic operation. The assembled system was constructed, tested, and evaluated. Results confirmed stable temperature-responsive speed variation, minimal power consumption, and consistent performance, making the design suitable for homes, offices, laboratories, and industrial applications.
