EFFECT OF DIFFERENT RATES OF POULTRY MANURE,SAW DUST WITH SOIL CONSTITUENTS ON SOIL CHEMICAL PROPERTIES, GROWTH AND YIELD OF TOMATO.
Abstract
Field experiment was conducted in Agricultural science Department, Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo in rain forest zone, and southwest Nigeria in 2024 to investigate the effects of different rates of poultry manure, saw dust with soil constituents on soil chemical properties, growth and yield of tomato. Poultry manure and sawdust were collected and combined together with soil in the ratios of PM+SD (1:1,1:2,1:4), SD+PM (1:1,1:2,1:4), SOIL+PM (1:1,1:2,1:4) and SOIL+SD (1:1,1:2,1:4). 500ml of distilled water was added immediately after the mixture. There were 12 treatments and were replicated 3 times. The mixture of poultry manure and sawdust had reasonable amount of pH, OC, K, Ca, Mg, and C/N. Poultry manure combined with sawdust soil constituents, significantly increased (P
