The findings of the study indicate that there is a significant similarity between domestic violence and divorce.
Domestic violence is a pressing issue that affects numerous individuals worldwide, leading to devastating consequences for victims and their families. This literature review explores how domestic violence instigates divorce and examines its effects on victims. Research indicates that domestic violence plays a significant role in the breakdown of marriages, with nearly half of all divorces involving some form of abuse. The toxic and abusive dynamics within a relationship create an environment of fear, intimidation, and manipulation, driving victims to seek an exit through divorce. The strain of abuse can cause immense physical, emotional, and psychological trauma to victims, impacting their mental health and well-being. Children witnessing abuse also suffer significant harm, necessitating divorce to provide them with a safe and stable environment. The findings underscore the urgent need for society to address domestic violence, support victims, and work towards creating a world free from abuse.
