Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between cost accounting practices and the performance outcomes of listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria, focusing specifically on Honeywell Flour Mills Plc. A descriptive, correlational research design was adopted: secondary data were collected from audited financial statements and annual reports spanning a defined period, and inferential statistical analysis was carried out using regression techniques. The study tested hypotheses relating implementation of cost accounting practices (such as standard costing, variance analysis, activitybased costing) to financial performance metrics (including gross profit margin, return on assets, and return on equity). The analysis revealed a statistically significant positive association between robust cost accounting practices and financial performance at Honeywell Flour Mills, with p = 0.000
