Abstract

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a global public health issue. While many individuals with HBY remain asymptomatic, the virus can still impact various physiological processes, including blood coagulation. This study aims to evaluate the coagulation parameters in asymptomatic hepatitis B patients to understand potential subclinical alterations. This study aimed to determine the coagulation parameters deficiency among asymptomatic persons living with hepatitis B in Federal Medical Centre Owo, Ondo state. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 100 asymptomatic HBV-positive patients and 20 healthy controls. Coagulation parameters such as prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), were measured and compared between the two groups. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods to determine any significant differences. ). The results show statistically significant differences (p
