Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive statistical analysis on the factors affecting diabetic patients using a dataset provided by the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases. The research focuses on identifying significant relationships between various diagnostic measurements such as glucose levels, body mass index (BMI), age, the number of pregnancies and the likelihood of developing diabetes. By employing chi-square tests, logistic regression, and other statistical methods, the study reveals that higher glucose levels, increased BMI, old age, and a greater number of pregnancies are all significantly associated with an elevated risk of diabetes. These findings underscore the importance of regular monitoring and targeted interventions for at-risk populations. The study concludes with actionable recommendations for healthcare professionals and public health initiatives aimed at mitigating the impact of these risk factors on diabetes prevalence.
