THE EFFECT OF ANTIBIOTICS ON PREGNANT WOMAN IN SAKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF OYO STATE
Abstract
This study examines the effects of antibiotic use among pregnant women in Saki Local Government Area, Oyo State. Using questionnaires from antenatal clinic attendees, the research found that many pregnant women use antibiotics—often without medical advice. Improper use can cause antibiotic resistance and harm to the mother or fetus, while proper medical use helps prevent infections. The study recommends increased public health education and strict prescription control to promote safe antibiotic use during pregnancy.
