Abstract

This study investigates the impact of cassava flour (garri) on the forelimb locomotive function of Wistar rats using the Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan (BBB) scoring system. The aim was to evaluate how different cassava flour samples influence motor performance. Six male Wistar rats were divided into three groups: control (standard diet), white garri, and red garri. The locomotive function was assessed weekly over eight weeks using grasping tasks and the BBB scale. Results showed peak success rates of 64.47% in the control group, 60.50% in the white garri group, and 53.52% in the red garri group. ANOVA analysis revealed significant differences between groups (F=3.694, p
