INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEMPERATURE, LENGTH AND SWIRL ANGLE IN A SWIRL BURNER
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research delves into the intricate relationship between temperature, burner length, and swirl angle
within a swirl burner. Swirl burners are widely used in combustion systems, and their performance
is significantly influenced by these parameters. The study aims to:
• Quantify the impact of temperature variations: Analyze how changes in operating temperature
affect flame stability, emissions, and overall combustion efficiency.
• Examine the role of burner length: Investigate the influence of burner length on flow patterns,
mixing characteristics, and the resulting flame shape and stability.
• Determine the optimal swirl angle: Investigate the effect of swirl angle on flow characteristics,
such as recirculation zones, and how these variations impact combustion performance.
Experimental or numerical methods will be employed to systematically vary these parameters and
observe their effects on key performance indicators. The findings of this research will contribute
vi
to a deeper understanding of swirl burner behavior and provide valuable insights for optimizing
combustion processes in various industrial applications, such as power generation, gas turbines,
and furnaces.
Key considerations for further development:
• Specific objectives: Clearly define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound
(SMART) objectives.
• Methodology: Detail the experimental setup, instrumentation, data acquisition techniques, and
analysis methods.
• Literature review: Incorporate a comprehensive review of existing literature on swirl burners and
the influence of the investigated parameters.
• Expected outcomes: Outline the anticipated outcomes, such as correlations between parameters
and performance, optimization strategies, and potential applications.
