IMPACT OF AUDIT QUALITY ON INVESTMENT DECISION OF LISTED OIL MARKETING COMPANIES IN NIGERIA

The research work titled an ‘‘Impact of audit quality on investment decision of listed oil marketing companies in Nigeria, other specific objectives of the study is to examine analyze how audit quality affects the investment choices of oil marketing companies listed on Nigeria's stock exchange. Where it will focus Exploring how different types of audits impact investment decisions and Investigating how the delay in auditors' reports affects investment decisions of listed oil marketing companies in Nigeria and extensive literature review was carried out based on conceptual theoretical empirical as well as the definition and overviews of Audit Quality has been carried out, a survey research designed was employed, resources employed for data comprised both primary and secondary source, the method of data collection involved annual reports and accounts of the sampled companies under study and the Nigeria Exchange Group for the period of 2017-2023 the data collected for the study were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation and regression Hypothesis formulated are tested to either reject or accept the null hypotheses. The research examined the impact of Audit Fees on the investment decisions of listed oil marketing companies in Nigeria based on the findings, it was recommends that the lag in the audit report does not have a statistically significant effect on the investment decisions of the listed oil marketing companies studied, but there is a borderline significance that may warrant further exploration The research did not find a statistically significant impact of Audit Fees on investment decisions, it is advised that organizations carefully assess the cost-benefit relationship associated with Audit Fees. The study suggests a potential relationship between the lag in the audit report and investment decisions, albeit not statistically significant. Future research endeavors should explore this relationship in more detail.
