DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN AUTOMATIC ROOM TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER FAN USING ARDUINO UNO MICROCONTROLLER
Abstract
Design and construction of an automatic room temperature controller fan using arduino uno microcontroller provide efficient cooling by automatically adjusting fan speed based on ambient temperature. Utilizing an ATMEGA328 microcontroller and an LM35 temperature sensor, the system reads temperature data, processes it, and controls the fan speed through pulse-width modulation (PWM). The design was first simulated using Proteus software and then constructed on a Vero board, incorporating key components such as a 12V DC fan, MOSFETs for switching, and a 16×2 LCD for displaying temperature and fan speed. Testing demonstrated accurate performance within a temperature range of 30°C to 60°C, with a response time of 2.25 seconds and energy-efficient power consumption. The system maintained stability with recalibration ensuring accuracy within ±1°C. This affordable and reliable solution offers significant convenience and energy savings, with future potential for enhancements like remote monitoring, expanded temperature ranges, and integration of additional environmental sensors.
