EFFECT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE
Abstract
This study examines effect of health and safety management on employee performance a study of federal medical centre fmc. Objective of the study was to determine the effect of health and safety management its effect on organizational performance. The research design employed was descriptive survey and the population of the study was 105 staffs of the selected companies. A sample size of 59 respondents was selected using quota sampling technique, of which 54 respondents filled and returned the questionnaire. the study make use of percentages and frequency table as a method of data presentation in order to highlight their unique features and respondents response and the analysis of data in relation to the hypotheses tested was carried with the use of Pearson correlation co-efficient which is aimed at the relationship between the variables. Findings from the path estimate through the analysis suggested that OHSM practices positively and significantly influenced both safety performance and task performance of employees. The studies recommend that organization should develop strategies for promotinge32 job satisfaction through fulfilling employees’ needs besides strengthening the occupational health and safety practices
