A self-structured questionnaire tagged the Effects of Broken Home on Academic Performance Questionnaire (EBHAPO) was used to gather data for the study Responses from the research question items were analyzed using frequency counts and percentages. Findings of the study reveal that the majority of the respondents agree that they find it difficult to concentrate very well in class whenever they remember their broken family they are not usually motivated to read, and they find it hard to complete their assignments. The result of this study suggested that one of the essential strategies for improving the academic performance of students from broken homes is providing counseling to single parents on the social needs of their children. This study recommended among other things that students living with single parent should be encouraged to work hard on themselves and their education in order not to be affected adversely by their broken homes.
