ERGONOMIC DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF BRAKE PAD TEST RIG
Abstract
This project aims to design and evaluate an ergonomic brake pad test rig for assessing brake pad performances. The test rig is designed to simulate real-world braking conditions and measure frictional force (torque) at various speeds and pressures. The rig is constructed using scavenged automotive components and prioritizes functionality, cost-effectiveness, and user ergonomics. The evaluation process assesses the system's operational capabilities, limitations, and overall functionality. The project provides a practical solution for testing brake pad performance, contributing to improved vehicle safety and braking system design. The study provides a practical framework for developing affordable brake pad testing facilities in academic and research environments.
