Abstract

This study examines the growth and development of Orumba North Local Government Area (LGA) in Anambra State from 1991 to 2022. It explores key areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and socioeconomic activities, with an emphasis on identifying the factors that have shaped the area’s development trajectory over three decades. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study draws on both quantitative data and qualitative insights from local residents, government records, and expert interviews. Findings reveal that despite significant strides in infrastructure and educational development, challenges persist, particularly in areas such as healthcare accessibility, road networks, and economic diversification. The research highlights the role of government policies, community initiatives, and external investments in driving progress, while also addressing the constraints posed by environmental factors and inadequate public funding. The study concludes that while Orumba North LGA has made considerable advancements, sustained growth requires strategic planning, improved governance, and targeted investments to overcome existing developmental challenges and further enhance the living conditions of its residents.
